Schumer Called Out For Ignoring Biden’s Mental Decline

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer is facing criticism for his refusal to answer a question posed by a CNN host regarding his awareness of former President Joe Biden’s evident mental decline during his presidency.

In an interview with CNN’s Kasie Hunt, the New York Democrat sidestepped the question, stating that he and his party were focused on future challenges and opposing President Donald Trump and the GOP, regardless of the potential benefits of their policies for the nation.

This exchange occurred in the context of the forthcoming book ‘Original Sin,’ co-authored by CNN’s Jake Tapper and Axios’ Alex Thompson, which explores Biden’s decline and the attempts by those around him to hide it.

Hunt’s question to Schumer mirrored the classic inquiry: ‘What did you know, and when did you know it?’ She pressed, ‘Did you genuinely have no awareness that he was unfit to serve a second term?’

Schumer expressed anticipation, stating, ‘We are confronted with the most significant Medicaid reduction ahead of us, and the entire federal government is at stake,’ before being interrupted by Hunt.

The host then pointed out to Schumer that the main argument of the book suggested that Biden’s perceived unfitness for office, coupled with his determination to seek re-election, could be the reason the Democrats are at risk of a second term under President Donald Trump.

Subsequently, CNN host Abby Phillips led a discussion on Schumer’s alleged involvement in concealing Biden’s cognitive decline, with the most severe criticism coming from conservative Scott Jennings.

Phillips stated, ‘According to an excerpt from the book, Chuck Schumer was not worried about Biden’s mental sharpness, but rather about the public perception. A fellow wedding guest seated at Schumer’s table recalled him mentioning, ‘If the debate goes poorly, Barack [Obama], Nancy [Pelosi], Hakeem [Jeffries], and I have a contingency plan.’

Schumer later refuted this claim, indicating a political issue at hand.’ Jennings interjected, ‘When he says ‘go south’ at the debate, does he mean that Joe Biden experienced a significant malfunction as we witnessed, or is he suggesting that Biden simply does not perform well?’

Jennings expressed that Chuck Schumer’s primary concern appeared to be the public perception rather than the potential cognitive decline of the President of the United States, which he believes reflects poorly on Schumer’s character.

He further stated that the awareness of this issue prior to the presidential campaign was evident through numerous videos, speeches, and statements. Jennings criticized the claims of ignorance regarding the situation as outrageous, emphasizing that the cover-up is equally unacceptable.

He also noted that there were serious discussions about the President’s capability to serve another term until it became an untenable position during the debate.

Indeed, Jake and Alex have provided an invaluable contribution. This book is essential, and these narratives must be shared, as we have experienced one of the most significant scandals in contemporary American political history.

The concealment surrounding the president’s deterioration, along with the assertion that he could continue for another term… If he were currently in office, having somehow secured victory, the same individuals on television would be proclaiming that he is perfectly fine behind closed doors, and you are aware of this.
