Dolly Parton Revisits “Light of a Clear Blue Morning” With Miley Cyrus, Reba, Lainey Wilson and Queen Latifah

On Monday, January 12th,  teased a new project on social media by writing, “Something new is on the horizon.”

The next day, Parton revealed that the news was that she re-recorded her song “Light Of A Clear Blue Morning” with four incredible female singers. Lainey Wilson, Miley Cyrus, Queen Latifah, and Reba McEntire.

Parton also revealed that “proceeds from this recording and music video will benefit pediatric cancer research at the Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt in Nashville, TN.”

In another social media video, Parton says that she wrote the song when she was feeling down and needed a “shining light.” She says she invited four of her friends, whom she called “real shining lights,” to join her on the song.

At Midnight Eastern time, Dolly Parton not only released the recording of her, Wilson, Cyrus, McEntire, and Latifah’s version of “Light of a Clear Blue Morning,” she also dropped a music video!

The video featured all five talented singers recording the song in various recording booths. While five voices might seem like a lot on one song, all of them sound incredible together, and when they got to the chorus, we had chills! They also added a 12-person choir to add to the powerhouse vocalists. The video also showed iconic producer David Foster playing piano.
