Being in constant agreement with one another, on every topic and subject matter would make for a very boring existence. Having the same preference for food, television shows, movies and music as the next guy wouldn’t be any fun.

God’s word even mentions how he made us all individuals and how he has different thoughts and plans for us. Jeremiah 29:11, reads, “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope in your latter end.”

Folk music is one of those things that people either seem to love…. or not enjoy so much. For those who do have an affinity for folk music, enjoy this beautiful song, “The Mountains of Mourne,” from Celtic Thunder.

The clip is from a live concert in front of an audience in Ireland. The simple, yet elegant performance of the song features the singer sitting on the steps of the stage as he strums along on his stringed instrument. Several other musicians join in, playing violins. Around the 2:10-minute mark in the clip, we see that an entire orchestra is playing along to the melody.

At approximately the 1-minute mark of the song, a flute player even joins in for a momentary solo. He does so again 2 minutes into the clip.

Much like the song’s melody, its lyrics are straightforward yet clever and unique.

“The people here are working by day and by night
They don’t sow potatoes, nor barley, nor wheat
But there’s gangs of them digging’ for gold in the street”

Be sure and give this beautiful song a listen!

Matthew 6:25 “Therefore I say to you, Take no thought for your life, what you shall eat, or what you shall drink; nor yet for your body, what you shall put on. Is not the life more than meat and the body more than raiment?”

“THE GRAMMY CROWD STOOD STILL WHEN HIS NAME WAS CALLED.” When Steve Perry’s name was announced at the 2025 Grammy Awards, something quiet happened in the room. Not cheers at first. A pause. Because everyone knew what that moment meant. With “Wings of Fire,” Steve Perry didn’t chase trends or volume. He stood still and sang the way he always has — straight from the chest. The kind of voice that carries years, losses, and patience. Nearly 50 years after Journey first changed rock radio, his voice still rises. Still holds. Still makes people stop what they’re doing and listen. Some artists fade. Some voices soften. His didn’t. It learned how to mean more.

There was no rush in the room when the winner was announced. Just a brief stillness. The kind…

APRIL 28, 2009 — THE QUIETEST DEATH TOOK COUNTRY’S LONELIEST VOICE. On that day, the world learned that Vern Gosdin was gone at 74. The news arrived without spectacle, much like the man himself. His passing was simple, almost hushed—mirroring a life and a body of work built on melancholy, patience, and emotional truth. Vern wasn’t just a singer. He was the sound of heartbreak spoken plainly. Loneliness. Betrayal. Feelings left unsaid. He never chased image or lights; sincerity did the work. A guitar. A velvet voice. Ordinary stories that cut deep. Listen closely to Chiseled in Stone and you hear why his voice still lingers. Not loud. Not polished. Just honest enough to stop a room—and stay there.
