Carson Daly’s role on The Voice is changing, and fans already have an idea for what he should do next.

NBC confirmed on August 4 that Keke Palmer will host The Voice: Celebrity, the Season 31 format with famous contestants, scheduled for spring 2027. It’s the first time Daly won’t be the on-screen host.
The news followed reports that Daly was leaving the show entirely. The U.S. Sun reported that he was stepping away because of a demanding cross-country schedule and a wish to spend more time with family. Daly co-hosts Today in New York, while The Voice films in Los Angeles.

Daly has pushed back on the idea that he’s gone for good. He said the celebrity format needed a different host because it changes the structure viewers have seen for 30 seasons. He said he has hosted and produced every second of the show for 30 seasons, and that he’ll produce the celebrity edition and help launch it from behind the scenes. With Daly no longer tied to Los Angeles for the celebrity season, fans have suggestions. Some want him to become Peter Alexander’s anchor replacement alongside Laura Jarrett on NBC’s Weekend Today. One fan said they’re enjoying Carson on Saturdays. NBC hasn’t announced anything about that.
For now, The Voice Season 30 airs Mondays on NBC, with Daly hosting the coaches Kelly Clarkson, Riley Green, Adam Levine and Queen Latifah.
