Season 30’s first-ever Cut Week delivered shocking exits, emotional performances and difficult decisions. One singer is already being called a potential winner by a coach, while fans hope their eliminated favourites get one last chance to return.
The competition is getting serious on The Voice. On November 2, 2026, the show introduced its first-ever Cut Week, a dramatic new round that reduced the remaining 28 artists to just 12 contestants selected by their coaches — with one additional place reserved for a singer chosen by America’s vote.
The format produced the biggest elimination round in the show’s history so far. Kelly Clarkson, Adam Levine, Queen Latifah and Riley Green each had to decide which artists deserved to advance, sending two singers from each team straight through before choosing one more from the five remaining performers.
For contestants who had impressed during the Blind Auditions, Battles and earlier rounds, the results were heartbreaking. Several artists delivered performances that received strong praise from entertainment critics, only to be eliminated because their coaches had very few places left to fill.
One important detail: after the coaches’ decisions, 12 artists had secured their places in the Live Shows. The 13th spot was still awaiting America’s vote, which could bring one eliminated contestant back. That means the final Top 13 was not fully confirmed immediately after Cut Week.
The official 12 artists heading to the Live Shows
The coaches selected three artists apiece, creating a Top 12 that will compete when the Live Shows begin on November 9.
Team Adam Levine
-
Lexi Stephens — praised by Adam as the strongest singer in the competition and someone he believes could win the season.
-
Connor Closs — selected for his versatile voice and competitive spirit.
-
Dakota Cohen — advanced after a rock performance that showcased her distinctive style.
Team Kelly Clarkson
-
Koumba Diallo — impressed Kelly with his consistency and control.
-
Anna McElroy — earned her place after delivering a strong performance.
-
Brianna Cameron — the 13-year-old singer advanced after a powerful rendition of “Inseparable.”
Team Queen Latifah
-
Mia Knight — Queen’s early favourite, chosen for her mature-sounding vocals despite her young age.
-
BigCountry — advanced for his distinctive country-influenced artistry.
-
Lillie Kolich — won the final place on Queen’s team with “Friday I’m in Love.”
Team Riley Green
-
Cade Mower — selected for his unique voice and musical connection with Riley.
-
Ferryn and Brinkley — the sister duo advanced after consistently strong performances.
-
Joe Henley — earned Riley’s final spot with a performance of Keith Whitley’s “Don’t Close Your Eyes” that drew a standing ovation from all four coaches.
Adam Levine’s winner prediction puts Lexi Stephens in the spotlight
That is a major endorsement as the competition heads into its live phase. At this point, contestants must not only deliver strong vocals but also connect with viewers watching at home. A coach’s confidence can help build momentum, but it does not guarantee a win — especially now that audience voting will play a major role.
Adam also advanced Connor Closs, praising his tone and versatility, before choosing Dakota Cohen for the final place on his team. Dakota’s rock performance stood out, and Adam said he wanted to keep a strong female rock singer in the competition.
Could Lexi really become the Season 30 winner? Adam clearly believes she has the potential. The live shows will reveal whether viewers agree.
Brianna Cameron’s emotional breakthrough for Team Kelly
Kelly Clarkson faced her own difficult decision when she had to choose one artist from five performers for her team’s final spot. Her selection was 13-year-old Brianna Cameron, who performed Natalie Cole’s “Inseparable.”

Brianna received enthusiastic praise from the coaches. Kelly highlighted her vocal ability and the maturity she showed in the performance, while the other coaches also remarked on how impressive she sounded at such a young age.
But her advancement also meant that other strong voices on Team Kelly had to leave. Brooklyn Marie, Nina Howland, Marcus Ladden Jr. and Kyle Davis were among the artists who did not make the coach-selected Top 12. Nina’s performance was particularly notable in TVLine’s recap, which gave her rendition of Renée Rapp’s “In the Kitchen” an A+ grade.

That contrast captures the difficulty of Cut Week: a highly praised performance does not automatically secure a contestant’s place when each coach can advance only three artists.
Queen Latifah’s choice leaves fans debating
Queen Latifah’s final choice was Lillie Kolich, who sang The Cure’s “Friday I’m in Love.” She joined Mia Knight and BigCountry in the Live Shows.

However, the decision also meant saying goodbye to Destinee Monroe, whose performance of David Bowie’s “Space Oddity” received an A grade from TVLine. The outlet praised the performance’s rising intensity, vocal range and rock energy. Chari also earned positive reviews for her rendition of “Killing Me Softly,” while Alt Bloom was praised for his impressive range.

These exits have made Queen’s choices a talking point. Some viewers may have preferred to see Monroe or Chari advance, but Queen had only one final place to award. Her decision reflects the challenge coaches face when several artists bring different strengths to the stage.
Riley Green chooses Joe Henley after a standing ovation
Riley Green selected Cade Mower and the sister duo Ferryn and Brinkley to advance automatically. For the final spot, he chose Joe Henley after Henley’s performance of Keith Whitley’s “Don’t Close Your Eyes.” All four coaches stood up to applaud the performance.

Other contestants who didn’t advance included Everett Bounds, Allie Rae, Keiyana Osmond and Kayleigh Mathews. Their exits were particularly tough for fans who had followed their progress throughout the season.
Who went home — and who can still return?
The coaches’ choices left 16 artists outside the initial Top 12. The eliminated contestants included:
-
Team Queen: Destinee Monroe, Alt Bloom, Chari and Bryan Jaymes.
-
Team Adam: Evan James, Owen Uffens, Amanda Mikkel and Brandon Diaz.
-
Team Riley: Allie Rae, Everett Bounds, Keiyana Osmond and Kayleigh Mathews.
-
Team Kelly: Brooklyn Marie, Nina Howland, Marcus Ladden Jr. and Kyle Davis.

That is 16 eliminated artists at the end of the coaches’ round — not 15. One of those singers could still return through America’s vote for the additional Live Show spot, leaving 15 artists ultimately out of the competition once that final place is decided. The vote’s result is scheduled to be revealed on November 9.

The Live Shows could change everything
The next stage begins November 9, when the remaining contestants will have to win over viewers as well as their coaches. With Lexi Stephens already receiving a major endorsement from Adam Levine, Brianna Cameron making an impression for Kelly Clarkson, and Joe Henley earning a standing ovation, there are several artists fans may be watching closely.
But the open audience-vote spot adds another layer of suspense. A contestant who was eliminated by a coach could still get another opportunity — and viewers now have a direct say in who gets that chance.
