Emirates plane crash-lands with 300 aboard; 1 firefighter killed

Emirates flight performs an emergency landing in Dubai; all passengers are safe.

An Emirates flight traveling from India to Dubai executed an emergency landing at Dubai International Airport on Wednesday. All 300 individuals on board — comprising 282 passengers and 18 crew members — were safely evacuated. Unfortunately, a firefighter lost his life while responding to the incident, and 10 individuals were hospitalized.

The flight, EK521 originating from Thiruvananthapuram, may have experienced wind shear during its descent. Smoke and flames were observed at the location. Emirates has not provided specific details regarding the cause, but both Boeing and local authorities are conducting an investigation. Flight operations faced delays for several hours but have since resumed.
