“Choosin’ Texas” Reaches New Heights

Ella Langley‘s “Choosin’ Texas” landed with a splash upon its release in October 2025. It debuted in the 37th spot on the cross-genre Billboard Hot 100. By December 2nd, it had reached the top of the US Hot Country Songs chart, becoming Langleys’ first solo career #1 hit.

Additionally, it was the fastest-rising solo female song at US Country Radio this decade, reaching the Top 10 in just eight weeks.

On the week of January 5th, “Choosin’ Texas” jumped up 43 spots from last week on the Billboard Hot 100, landing at #5. This marked Langley’s first top-ten entry on the chart.

90s country icon Jo Dee Messina has been hard at work in the studio, preparing to release new music. In the midst of teasers for her upcoming album, the “Lesson in Leavin’” singer took a moment to share a cover of the latest song by her friend Ella Langley.

Jo Dee Messina and Ella Langley Join Forces At The Ryman

In November, Ella Langley headlined two sold-out shows at the historic Ryman Auditorium in Nashville to wrap up her Still Hungover tour. During the two-night stint, the “You Look Like You Love Me” singer welcomed a stacked list of guest performers to the stage.

Morgan Wallen, Ernest, Kaitlin Butts, Gretchen Wilson, Mae Estes, and Jo Dee Messina were among the stars to join Langley for surprise duets.

Messina joined Langley for a powerhouse moment, highlighting two generations of strong women in country music. Together, they sang Messina’s 1998 hit “Lesson in Leavin’” for the sold-out crowd. See their performance in the video below!
