A 21-year-old woman named Kine-Chan was not allowed to board her flight because of the outfit she was wearing. She says it wasn’t fair, and her story has gotten a lot of people talking online.
Kine-Chan is a model and cosplayer from Brazil. That means she loves dressing up as characters from shows, movies, or games. For a special event, she dressed as Rebecca, a character from an anime called Cyberpunk: Edgerunners. Her costume was a black bikini, a blue wig, and black sandals to look just like Rebecca.
She was heading to an airport in Brazil called Navegantes to catch her flight. Since she was worried about being late for the event, Kine-Chan decided to wear her costume to the airport instead of changing later. But when she got there, the airport staff told her she couldn’t get on the plane because her outfit was “not appropriate.”
Kine-Chan shared what happened on Instagram. She explained that she wore the costume to save time, but the airport made her go home and change clothes. She felt upset and thought it wasn’t right.
After she posted her story, lots of people commented online. Some agreed with her and thought she should be allowed to wear her costume. One person said, “It’s sad the airport stopped you. You’re a great artist, and your costume was awesome. People should be free to show their creativity!” Others thought she should have worn something different for the airport, like a dress or shirt that’s easier to change. One person wrote, “Kine, I like you, but maybe you could have worn something simple to travel in.”
Airports can be busy and stressful places, and sometimes they have rules about what people can wear. But those rules aren’t always clear. Kine-Chan’s story has started a big conversation about whether people should be allowed to wear fun, creative outfits like cosplay costumes when they travel.
Cosplay is when people dress up as their favorite characters, and it’s becoming more popular. For Kine-Chan, wearing her costume is a big part of who she is. When someone tells her it’s not okay, it can feel like they’re saying her creativity isn’t welcome.
People online are still talking about this. Some think the airport was right to have rules, but others believe Kine-Chan should be free to wear her costume anywhere. What do you think?
