Paul McCartney and Martin Short Will Have You Cracking up In This SNL Christmas Sketch
Paul McCartney and Martin Short are hilarious in this Saturday Night Live Christmas sketch. The comedic legend and the former Beatle will have you double over with laughter and struggling to catch your breath. Watch this short but hysterical SNL Christmas skit featuring Martin Short and Paul McCartney.
Martin Short and Paul McCartney are two individuals who have enjoyed successful careers spanning decades. Because they have been in the public eye for so long, people are most certainly aware of them and their legendary talents. Martin is someone who, with a simple look or a well-delivered line, can send an entire audience into hysterics. Of course, Paul is one of the most legendary musicians of all time, a former frontman for the most iconic, beloved band of all time, The Beatles.

However, in a skit from the popular, long-running sketch comedy program, they use the fact that everyone knows who Paul McCartney is to great comedic effect. Martin and Paul are cousins trying out for a school Christmas pageant together. Martin is exceptionally demanding and more than a little cruel, wanting nothing more than to be the center of attention. Hilariously, believing that Paul has no musical talent whatsoever, Martin relegates Paul to playing the triangle.
Before they even get started, Martin, as Caleb, wants to make one thing clear.
“But a quick correction, we are not a singing duo,” Martin says. “I’m the singer and Monty plays the triangle, which is for the best because you don’t want to hear Monty sing.”

Paul, as Monty, mentions that he does enjoy singing and likes doing it, but his efforts are blocked at every attempt.
Unfortunately, their audition did not go well. Caleb gets upset and storms off, leaving Monty to finish the performance by himself. The clip ends in a way that you will not see coming.
Colossians 3:16 “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.”
