Jelly Roll was performing a show in Virginia Beach, Virginia over the weekend when he noticed a fan who appeared to be having a medical issue.

The Tennessee native was in the middle of performing his chart-topping hit “NEED A FAVOR” at the Veterans United Home Loans Amphitheater when he halted his concert and asked his band to stop playing.

“We got somebody down right here,” he said in videos captured by attendees, pointing out the fan and asking that they be given some water as the crowd expressed their appreciation for how he looked out for the concertgoer in need.

“I’ll stop the show for anybody to make sure they’re safe,” he said. “I don’t care what song I’m singing. I love you, I want you to feel better.”

“In fact, not only do I want you to get some water and feel better, I want you to get some water, feel better, come back and start drinking again,” he added to the fan before getting back to the show, which was the biggest of his career with a sold-out crowd of 22,000.

Shocked Chesterfield County Jail Inmates With Surprise Visit

Jelly Roll has long had a special bond with his fans and does what he can to help them whenever he’s able. Before Saturday’s show, he visited the Chesterfield County Jail in Virginia after inmates in the Helping Addicts Recover Progressively program made a video inviting him there.

Noting that he had been aware of the program and how it helped inmates before they even shouted him out on social media, the singer made sure to make time to visit the inmates, speaking with them and giving an acoustic performance as well as joining the inmates in a singalong.

“I’ve never been to a jail where the energy level was this high,” he said in a video documenting the day before sharing some advice that had once been imparted to him and made a major impact on his life — “Who you were is not who you are.”
