Yungblud pays tribute to Ozzy Osbourne, vows to play 'Changes' cover "every night for the rest of my life"

For Yungblud, Ozzy Osbourne was never just a rock icon — he was a mentor, a friend, and a living embodiment of rebellion. Now, following the Prince of Darkness’s passing, the British singer has opened up about the most meaningful advice he ever received from his late hero, a lesson he says will guide him for the rest of his life.

A Meeting of Generations

Yungblud, born Dominic Harrison, has never hidden his admiration for Osbourne. From the explosive energy of his live shows to his refusal to conform to expectations, the 27-year-old often credited the Black Sabbath frontman as a blueprint for what it means to be unapologetically yourself.

The two artists first met during the filming of Yungblud’s video for The Funeral, in which Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne made cameo appearances. What started as a surreal, fanboy moment soon blossomed into a friendship that Yungblud treasures to this day.

The Advice That Changed Everything

Speaking in a recent interview, Yungblud recalled a private moment with Ozzy that left a lasting impression:

“He looked me in the eye and said: ‘Never let anyone tell you who you are. If you believe in yourself, the rest will follow.’

For Yungblud, those words weren’t just advice — they were a manifesto. “Ozzy lived his entire life on his own terms,” he said. “Hearing him tell me that gave me the confidence to keep doing the same. Whenever I start doubting myself, I remember his voice in my head.”

Carrying the Torch

The Doncaster native admitted that losing Osbourne feels like losing a compass. “It’s like a light went out in rock ’n’ roll,” he confessed. “But his spirit is alive every time someone gets on stage and screams their truth. That’s what he gave us.”

Fans have long drawn parallels between Yungblud’s chaotic energy and Ozzy’s larger-than-life persona. Yet, for Yungblud, the connection goes deeper than music. “Ozzy showed me that being an outsider isn’t something to be ashamed of. It’s your superpower,” he said.

After Yungblud shared the story on social media, fans flooded his comments with gratitude and support. Many said the advice resonated with them personally, especially those who, like Yungblud, have struggled with identity and belonging.

One fan wrote: “Ozzy’s words through you just saved me tonight. Thank you for keeping his spirit alive.” Another commented: “This is why we love you, Dom. You’re carrying the torch for a whole new generation.”

A Legacy That Lives On

While the world mourns the loss of one of heavy metal’s greatest pioneers, Yungblud believes the best way to honor Ozzy is to keep pushing boundaries. “Ozzy never played it safe. He risked everything to be himself. That’s the lesson. That’s the legacy. And I’ll be shouting it from the rooftops until my dying breath.”

As he prepares new music and future tours, Yungblud says Ozzy’s words will always guide him. “Every time I step on stage, I’ll hear him. Every time I doubt myself, I’ll remember him. That’s the gift he gave me. And I’ll never let it go.”

“WHEN CHRIS STAPLETON APPEARED BEHIND THE WHEELCHAIR, EVERYTHING CHANGED.” No one was ready for what happened next. The lights had barely faded when a wheelchair rolled out, and there sat Alan Jackson — thinner, shaking a little, but still carrying that spark he’s held for 50 years. The whole room froze. Some people cried before he even reached the stage. But the silence came from something else. Chris Stapleton was the one pushing him. Chris laid a gentle hand on Alan’s shoulder, whispered something only he could hear, and Alan gave this soft, trembling smile that broke the Opry open. Then the first chords of “Remember When” floated up… and suddenly it felt like we were watching a goodbye wrapped inside a song.
