DERMOT O’Leary and Tom Jones may be on rival talent shows, but they proved that it’s all about the music as they joined forces for the opening number of the National Television Awards.

The X Factor presenter and The Voice judge made sure the show kicked off in style, and performed with a live band for a rendition of jazz classic Got My Mojo Working by Muddy Waters.

Dermot is the first to arrive on stage and prepares to sing, but before he does Tom Jones cuts in front of him and steals the microphone from him.

Tom then takes the lead as Dermot is relegated to back-up singer – but he can’t help but bust out the last few notes to prove he has hidden talents as a singer.

Tom Jones then quickly took over the show

From the sounds of it though, while he managed to sing in key, it doesn’t look likely he’ll make the move from presenter to contestant anytime soon.

Dermot took to the stage for the eighth year as the host of the NTAs this evening – and made sure it was one no one would forget.

The crooner showed the presenter how it was done as he seranaded the crowd

Ahead of the night’s festivities, he warned The Sun’s Dan Wootton about the opening number and said “In a manner of speaking it’s happening.

“I go out, I’m about to start singing and Tom Jones comes out and does a number.

The pair then turned to each other for a song

“I’m s******g myself.

“It sounds good now when you’re being nice to me, but I don’t know how it’ll sound when I’m stood next to one of the country’s greatest-ever singers.”

He then added his boss Simon Cowell wasn’t so interested to hear his vocals, and said: “Simon’s tips are, ‘Why are you doing that? Don’t do it you’re just stupid…  blah blah blah’.”

However, he also revealed the thing he would be looking forward to most at the event – watching Phil and Holly on This Morning the next day.

The daytime duo took to the sofa last year still drunk from the night before.

Speaking about the incident in an exclusive Facebook Live with The Sun’s Bizarre column, Dermot said: “These two are so naughty honestly. This one of the reasons why I wish I was at the NTAs rather than just hosting it—cause I’ve got to be a good boy on the night of the NTAs.

“You finish the show and you’re playing eight hour catch up on everyone. These two [pointing at Holly and Phil] with Ant and Dec and their respective partners, are the worst.

“She literally doesn’t go home. They are brilliant, love them for that. Actually one of the best thing about the NTAs is waking up the next day to see what state these two are in on This Morning. Look at Phillip! He looks dead to the world.”

“HE LIFTED THE MIC FOR ONE BREATH… AND IN THAT MOMENT, THREE DECADES OF LIFE CAME CRASHING BACK.” Toby Keith stepped into the spotlight the way he always had — steady stride, unshakable gaze, that unmistakable country grit glowing just beneath the hat. But the second he leaned into the opening line of “Courtesy of the Red, White and Blue,” something quietly changed. Not in the roar of the crowd. Not in the stage beneath his boots. But deep inside him. Suddenly, every highway night, every heartbreak, every battle he never spoke about was stitched into the sound of his voice — a voice carrying the weight of a man who’d lived every word he sang. Halfway through the verse, he stopped. Just a heartbeat. But it was enough. Enough for the room to feel the lifetime behind that song. In that silence, it didn’t feel like the anthem was remembering history… It felt like it was remembering him.

Those words, spoken through tears by Sunday Rose (16) to Nicole Kidman, have become the most haunting echo of the Kidman–Urban divorce. Her younger sister, Faith Margaret (13), clung to their father and whispered: “I don’t care about the movies or the music… I just want you home.” Witnesses say the two girls broke down as their parents revealed the truth behind their 19-year marriage ending. The moment was so raw that even Nicole, usually composed, sobbed uncontrollably, while Keith sat frozen — before quietly walking out of the room in silence. Now, insiders reveal the split may be “one-sided,” with Nicole fighting desperately to hold the marriage together while Keith had already let go. The daughters’ heartbreak has only deepened the drama, leaving fans questioning whether Hollywood’s golden couple ended things by choice — or by something far more painful.

The Grammys weren’t ready for that stillness. When Best Rock Album was announced, the room didn’t gasp. It rose. Neil Young stepped into the gold light without the old defiance, holding it like a memory. He sang “Love Will Survive,” and the edges of his voice gave way. Not weak. Human. He spoke slowly. Looked down once. Smiled like someone who’s carried songs a long way. Then came the last sentence. Simple. Honest. The kind that lands after years, not applause. People stood. Some wiped their eyes. In 2026, the Godfather of Grunge reminded everyone what conscience sounds like. And what the cameras missed is what people can’t stop talking about.
