Shortly after George Strait was honoured with the Kennedy Center Medal at the White House, Ella Langley has paid tribute to the King of Country Music with a stellar new cover.

Taking to social media, Langley has offered her take on Strait’s iconic 1982 hit, ‘Fool Hearted Memory’. The ‘you look like you love me’ singer-songwriter wraps her sinuous, enchanting drawl around the heartbroken lyrics, alongside an intimate acoustic guitar.

It showcases Langley’s penchant for traditional country, with the three-time 2025 CMA Award-winner paving the way as she re-popularises a more nostalgic sound, epitomised by her part-spoken anthem with Riley Green, ‘you look like you love me’. ‘Fool Hearted Memory’ has stood the test of time as one of the touchstones for classic country music, with Strait remaining one of the all-time greats.

The Alabama native has captioned the clip simply, “Mr. George”. The timing of the cover feels pertinent, with Langley presumably paying homage to the ‘All My Ex’s Live in Texas’ legend following his prestigious appearance at the Kennedy Center Honors.

Strait received his medal from Donald Trump, who made a tongue-in-cheek remark that “He’s got good hair!”, after the Texas icon removed his trademark Resistol cowboy hat.

Hilariously, in the comments of Langley’s newly uploaded video of ‘Fool Hearted Memory’, a fan has responded, “You should pursue a career as a musician”, to which the ‘weren’t for the wind’ hitmaker has sarcastically replied, “Was considering it”.

We’d love to one day see a collaboration between ‘Mr. George’ and Langley, as their respective love for ‘60s and ‘70s country would surely lay the foundation for a wonderfully old-timey duet. In the meantime, we’ll continue to look forward to Langley’s next studio album, which is expected to arrive in early 2026 and feature the much-loved singles, ‘Choosin’ Texas’ and ‘Never Met Anyone Like You’.

“SING ME BACK HOME…” DIDN’T SOUND LIKE A SONG THAT NIGHT — IT SOUNDED LIKE A GOODBYE PRACTICED TOO EARLY. Standing beside Andrea Bocelli, Il Volo didn’t perform so much as listen, slowing their voices to match his breath, letting silence carry the weight, as if all of them sensed time pressing closer and understood this wasn’t about power or perfection but about holding something fragile together for a few minutes, a moment that now feels less like a tribute and more like a quiet rehearsal for a farewell no one was ready to say out loud.

“YEAR 13 — AND SUNDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL STILL BELONGS TO CARRIE.” Carrie Underwood is officially back. And the 2025 Sunday Night Football opener proved it in seconds. The lights hit. The beat kicked in. Glitter caught the camera just right. “Waiting All Day for Sunday Night” filled the screen like it always does. Fireworks. Fast cuts. That familiar rush. It didn’t feel new — it felt right. Year 13, and she still flips the switch for an entire season. Fans didn’t overthink it. They just said what everyone felt. “It’s not football season until Carrie sings.” Sometimes tradition isn’t about nostalgia. It’s about knowing exactly when something begins.
