BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN JUST RELEASED A NEW SONG — AND “STREETS OF MINNEAPOLIS” CUTS DEEPER THAN ANYONE EXPECTED. With little warning, Bruce Springsteen has unveiled a stark new track titled Streets of Minneapolis, and it lands with the quiet force of a reckoning rather than a radio single. Stripped-down and heavy with atmosphere, the song walks through grief, unrest, and moral unease, letting the weight of the streets speak louder than any chorus ever could. Springsteen doesn’t shout or sermonize — he observes, reflects, and lets the silences do as much work as the lyrics, creating something that feels less like a release and more like a statement. It’s the kind of song that demands stillness, inviting listeners to sit with it rather than sing along, and once it ends, the echo lingers — proof that when Springsteen turns his attention to a place and a moment, he doesn’t just write about it… he leaves a mark.

Listen to Bruce Springsteen’s New Song, ‘Streets of Minneapolis’

SiriusXM’s E Street Radio will start playing the song today (January 28).

Bruce Springsteen released a new protest song, “Streets of Minneapolis,” on January 28.

“I wrote this song on Saturday, recorded it yesterday and released it to you today in response to the state terror being visited on the city of Minneapolis,” Bruce wrote. “It’s dedicated to the people of Minneapolis, our innocent immigrant neighbors and in memory of Alex Pretti and Renee Good.”

In “Streets of Minneapolis,” Bruce denounces “King Trump’s private army” and praises the observers and demonstrators who “stood for justice, their voices ringing through the night.” Check out the song and its lyrics below, and listen to it on E Street Radio with host Jim Rotolo starting today at 5pm ET on car radios and the SiriusXM app.

“Streets of Minneapolis” Lyrics

Hear Bruce Springsteen's Anti-ICE Song 'Streets of Minneapolis'

Through the winter’s ice and cold

Down Nicollet Avenue

A city aflame fought fire and ice

‘Neath an occupier’s boots

King Trump’s private army from the DHS

Guns belted to their coats

Came to Minneapolis to enforce the law

Or so their story goes

Against smoke and rubber bullets

By the dawn’s early light

Citizens stood for justice

Their voices ringing through the night

And there were bloody footprints

Where mercy should have stood

And two dead left to die on snow-filled streets

Alex Pretti and Renee Good

Oh our Minneapolis, I hear your voice

Singing through the bloody mist

We’ll take our stand for this land

And the stranger in our midst

Here in our home they killed and roamed

In the winter of ’26

We’ll remember the names of those who died

On the streets of Minneapolis

Trump’s federal thugs beat up on

His face and his chest

Then we heard the gunshots

And Alex Pretti lay in the snow, dead

Their claim was self defense, sir

Just don’t believe your eyes

It’s our blood and bones

And these whistles and phones

Against Miller and Noem’s dirty lies

Oh our Minneapolis, I hear your voice

Crying through the bloody mist

We’ll remember the names of those who died

On the streets of Minneapolis

Now they say they’re here to uphold the law

But they trample on our rights

If your skin is black or brown my friend

You can be questioned or deported on sight

In chants of ICE out now

Our city’s heart and soul persists

Through broken glass and bloody tears

On the streets of Minneapolis

Oh our Minneapolis, I hear your voice

Singing through the bloody mist

Here in our home they killed and roamed

In the winter of ’26

We’ll take our stand for this land

And the stranger in our midst

We’ll remember the names of those who died

On the streets of Minneapolis

We’ll remember the names of those who died

On the streets of Minneapolis

For the first time in history, Paul McCartney has been named to TIME’s 100 Most Influential People of 2025 — and the recognition feels less like an award than history finally catching up. After more than six decades shaping the sound, soul, and emotional memory of modern music, McCartney’s influence was never built on trends or viral moments, but on patience, craft, and songs that endured across generations. From melodies that transformed pop music to lyrics that still feel deeply personal decades later, his impact accumulated quietly and became woven into how the world understands love, loss, hope, and joy. This moment doesn’t mark a reinvention or a comeback — it confirms a legacy that has always been there, steady and undeniable. 👉 READ FULL DETAILS IN THE FIRST COMMENT

Last night, “Real Love” stopped being just a song. When Paul and Ringo welcomed John and George’s sons onto the same stage, the arena went silent — not out of shock, but understanding. No speeches. No spectacle. Just music carrying memory forward. For a few fragile minutes, the past felt present again. And everyone in the room knew they were witnessing something that would never happen the same way twice. Some moments aren’t concerts. They’re history breathing.
