A Surprise Duet at Keith Urban’s Cincinnati Show

Fans attending Keith Urban’s High and Alive World Tour stop in Cincinnati, Ohio, were in for a huge surprise when rising country artist Britnee Kellogg joined Urban on stage. Together, they delivered a show-stopping duet of Urban’s 2013 hit with Miranda Lambert, “We Were Us.”

Originally written by Jon Nite, Jimmy Robbins, and Nicolle Galyon, the nostalgic track captures the bittersweet memories of young love and the ache of longing for simpler times. On stage, Kellogg seamlessly stepped into Lambert’s role, her powerhouse vocals blending effortlessly with Urban’s signature sound and fiery guitar riffs. The crowd erupted as the two united on the chorus, their harmonies carrying a raw mix of passion and nostalgia.

How the Collaboration Came to Be

Kellogg revealed that her unexpected moment with Urban stemmed from their collaboration on his upcoming CBS competition series, The Road — created by Urban alongside Blake Shelton.

“One of the producers of The Road reached out to me to connect me with Keith’s team about performing at a show on the tour to promote the show, and I immediately freaked out,” Kellogg shared. “Working with Keith on the show was such a huge honor, so being asked to sing with him was just a pinch-me moment.”

For Kellogg, the night was deeply emotional.

“I felt at home, and every time I looked at him he just seemed so proud,” she said. “It was surreal. I could see my daughter’s face screaming, ‘Go mommy!’ What a feeling to know her first concert was Keith Urban featuring her mama.”

Urban introduced her to the audience warmly, saying she was “someone you guys don’t know yet—but you will.” He added that Kellogg was the first contestant from The Road to make a live pop-up appearance during his tour — with more surprise collaborations expected.

Fan Support and Gratitude

After sharing a clip of the duet online, Kellogg was overwhelmed by fans’ support.

“The comments have had me in a puddle since I posted the video,” she said. “I’ve been pursuing this dream since I was six years old, so to continue receiving love and support is something I will never take for granted.”

Her heartfelt post also included photos of her family meeting Urban backstage — a full-circle moment for the aspiring country star.

About The Road — Keith Urban’s New CBS Series

Just days before her onstage moment, Kellogg was announced as one of 12 contestants on The Road, CBS’s new country music competition show premiering fall 2025. The series follows emerging artists who travel across the U.S. performing as opening acts for Keith Urban, facing real-life challenges of life on tour.

Each episode will feature live performances, behind-the-scenes footage, and mentorship from country legends. Urban will be joined by executive producers Blake Shelton and Taylor Sheridan, with Gretchen Wilson serving as the show’s “Tour Manager.” A rotating panel of country stars and live audiences will decide who moves forward, with one artist ultimately winning the grand prize.

Kellogg described her fellow contestants as family:

“The 12 musicians are absolutely incredible. I’ve gained 11 new brothers and sisters that will forever be part of my life.”

Looking Ahead

With her star rising fast, Britnee Kellogg’s duet with Keith Urban marks what could be a major turning point in her career. And with The Road set to premiere Sundays, 9–10 PM ET/PT on CBS — and streaming on Paramount+ — fans will soon see much more of the talented newcomer who made a packed arena in Cincinnati believe in the magic of dreams coming true.

“THEY WERE READY TO LET GO… UNTIL THE CROWD SANG IT BACK.” There was a night when the road felt heavier than the music. Too many exits. Too many empty mornings in hotel rooms that all looked the same. Backstage, the noise faded, and the truth crept in. Randy broke the silence first—soft, careful—admitting what they were all afraid to say: keep going like this, and we lose what really matters. For a heartbeat, the ending felt close. Real. Inevitable. Then the stage lights flared. Before a single chord was struck, thousands of voices rose up, singing “Mountain Music” like it belonged to them. Not polished. Not perfect. Just full of love. Randy met Jeff’s eyes. Jeff turned to Teddy. They smiled—tired, grateful, young again. In one borrowed chorus, sung by strangers, they remembered why they started. And in that moment, they chose to stay.
