System of a Down Announce First UK Show in Nine Years With Huge Stadium Tour

SYSTEM OF DOWN

When System of a Down last performed in the UK back in 2015, it felt like a rare chance to witness one of rock’s most explosive live bands. Now, more than a decade later, the wait is finally over. The group has announced a massive European stadium tour for summer 2026, including a headline night at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London on July 13.

The show marks their first UK date in nine years, and fans will see them joined by a heavyweight bill featuring Queens of the Stone Age and a surprise reunion of sludge-metal cult heroes Acid Bath.

“We’ve Missed That Connection”

In a statement announcing the shows, frontman Serj Tankian reflected on the band’s long absence from Europe:

“We’ve missed that connection with our fans across the Atlantic. Every time we step on a stage in London, Berlin, or Warsaw, it feels like electricity runs through the air. We cannot wait to bring these songs back where they belong — to the people who’ve carried them with us for so long.”

Guitarist Daron Malakian added his excitement about returning to such large stages:

“This is going to be the biggest run we’ve ever done in Europe. Stadiums are a beast of their own, and the energy you feel playing ‘Chop Suey!’ or ‘Toxicity’ to 50,000 people at once… there’s nothing else like it.”

A Tour Across Europe

The newly announced dates stretch across the continent:

  • June 29 – Stockholm, Sweden (Strawberry Arena)
  • July 2 – Paris, France (Stade de France)
  • July 6 – Milan, Italy (Ippodromo Snai La Maura)
  • July 8 – Berlin, Germany (Olympiastadion)
  • July 10 – Düsseldorf, Germany (Open Air Park)
  • July 13 – London, UK (Tottenham Hotspur Stadium)
  • July 18 – Warsaw, Poland (PGE Narodowy)

The London date will stand out as the band’s only UK appearance of the year — and one of their largest headline concerts ever.

Looking Back, Looking Forward

The announcement comes after a busy run in 2025, when System of a Down hit South America and North America with a string of sold-out stadium and festival dates. But the group has kept a deliberately slow pace with live shows in the past decade, making every appearance feel like a special occasion.

While the band hasn’t released a full studio album since 2005’s Hypnotize, their music has taken on a life of its own. Classics like “Aerials,” “B.Y.O.B.,” and “Toxicity” remain staples of rock playlists around the world. Their politically charged lyrics and genre-defying style have only grown more relevant as new generations discover their catalog.

Tankian recently spoke about that enduring power in an interview:

“Even though the world has changed a lot since our early records, those songs still resonate because the issues — war, injustice, corruption — haven’t gone away. The music still feels urgent.”

Tickets and Access

Fans can register now via the band’s official website until September 15 for presale access.

  • Presale begins September 16 at 12 PM local time.
  • General on-sale starts September 19 at 12 PM local time.

With a reputation for one of the most unpredictable, high-voltage live shows in rock, System of a Down’s return to London promises to be more than just a concert. It will be a long-awaited reunion between band and fans — and possibly one of the defining live music events of 2026.
