Go figure—the inside of a bathroom has become the perfect stage for Courtney Hadwin to showcase her powerhouse vocals.

Singing a cappella in the intimate acoustics of the tiled space, every note resonates with startling clarity, carrying the same raw emotion and intensity that once stunned audiences on America’s Got Talent.

The natural reverb of the bathroom amplifies her voice, turning simple walls into a concert hall and making her soulful sound even more arresting.

It has been seven years since the then-13-year-old wowed the world with her phenomenal audition, and since then, Courtney has honed her artistry, developed her songwriting, and gathered life experiences that now inform her music.

Her debut album, ‘Little Miss Jagged’, releases on September 12, 2025, promises to solidify her status as a modern soul-and-blues powerhouse. Lead single ‘You Only Love Me When I Lie’ introduces fans to a new, confident Courtney—fully in control of her artistic vision. In her official video, she portrays herself as a woman, marking a significant coming-of-age moment.

“I loved every minute working on this set and portraying myself as a woman and not a child,” Courtney explains. “A big part of my journey and this song was showing how I’m no longer that kid everyone wants me to be. Everyone grows up and changes, and sometimes when you’re in the limelight at a young age, people expect you not to develop in the normal way we all do.”

‘Little Miss Jagged’ spans genres and moods, from hard rock swagger to Motown, funk, punk, and epic ballads, showcasing Courtney’s versatility. Her vocals hit with the force and soul of legends like Janis Joplin, Aretha Franklin, and Tina Turner, but with a contemporary edge that is unmistakably her own.

Much of the album was co-written with Grammy-winning producer Kevin Bowe (Etta James, Joe Cocker) in Minneapolis, helping Courtney craft songs that reflect both triumphs and struggles.

“These are coming-of-age songs, written when I was either at my lowest or feeling on top of the world,” Courtney says. “I’m nervous and excited to put them out there—this is the most personal I’ve ever been in my songwriting. It’s the story so far.”

ST.“THIS WASN’T A STAGE — IT WAS A SANCTUARY.” Backstage, Carrie Underwood didn’t call it a performance. She called it a prayer. Her voice was calm, but her eyes said she’d been somewhere deep.
