Diamond’s All-Time Greatest Hits returns to the Official Albums chart, the 100-spot ranking of the most-consumed albums and EPs in the U.K. The compilation is back at No. 97 as it celebrates 100 weeks on the competitive tally.

Neil Diamond’s Album Marks a Second Celebration

Diamond sees one of his projects make it to 100 weeks on the Official Albums chart for only the second time in his career. Just one other full-length – his soundtrack that accompanied the movie The Jazz Singer, which starred Diamond himself – is up to 110 turns on the same ranking. While it may rank as the singer’s longest-running success on the albums roster, The Jazz Singer hasn’t been seen on the Official Albums chart since 1987.

The Jazz Singer Soundtrack’s Chart History in the U.K.

Two versions of The Jazz Singer soundtrack have appeared on the Official Albums chart, according to the Official Charts Company. The first of the pair opened on the list in November 1980 and climbed all the way to No. 3. That’s the take that is now up to 110 stays somewhere on the ranking. Another edition launched in 1996, but that soundtrack only ever lifted to No. 79 and has managed just one month somewhere on the chart.

All-Time Greatest Hits Debuted More Than a Decade Ago

Diamond debuted All-Time Greatest Hits on the Official Albums ranking back in the fall of 2014. At the time, the compilation started off at No. 31. Despite the fact that it ranks as one of his longest-running winners on the albums list, All-Time Greatest Hits has never managed to appear inside the top 10, unlike many earlier releases from the superstar. The compilation has previously peaked at No. 18, a position it climbed to in early 2021.

Diamond’s All-Time Greatest Hits lives on four rosters in the U.K. this week, and it reappears on half of them. The compilation bounds back onto the Official Physical Albums chart at No. 24, in a much more impressive position than on the main albums list.

All-Time Greatest Hits takes up space inside the top 10 on the Official Album Downloads chart, falling from No. 5 to No. 8. At the same time, the set rockets 60 spaces north to No. 20 on the Official Albums Sales roster.

“Sweet Caroline” Continues as Neil Diamond’s Sole Hit in the U.K.

Diamond’s All-Time Greatest Hits includes just under two dozen of the singer-songwriter’s most celebrated tunes, but none are more popular than “Sweet Caroline.” That song is his only win in the U.K. at the moment, as it steps up more than two dozen spaces on both the Official Singles Sales and Official Singles Downloads charts. Next period, when the Official Charts Company refreshes its rosters once more, “Sweet Caroline” will celebrate 100 weeks on the list of the most-downloaded tunes throughout the nation – a feat he has never managed before.
