Megan Moroney joined a star-studded lineup to celebrate the holiday season at the CMA Country Christmas.

For the 16th year, country music’s biggest stars helped ring in the season during the two-hour CMA Country Christmas television special.

Filmed in front of a live audience at Belmont University’s Fisher Center, CMA Country Christmas featured performances from Riley Green, Lady A, Little Big Town, Parker McCollum, Megan Moroney, Susan Tedeschi, Derek Trucks, BeBe Winans, and Preservation Hall Jazz Band. Jordan Davis and Lauren Daigle teamed up to host the celebration for the first time and also performed.

The all-star lineup delivered performances of Christmas classics as well as some festive modern tunes. Among the latter was Megan Moroney’s performance of “All I Want For Christmas Is A Cowboy.”

The song was written by Moroney along with Ben Williams, Mackenzie Carpenter, and Micah Carpenter and was included on the singer’s holiday EP released in 2024. The catchy lyrics have Megan revealing the one thing on her Christmas list.

Give me tall hot in a Stetson/ Something I can unwrap like a present/ Put him in some new Luccheses/ Make him call me baby/ I swear I’ve been good all year/ Please Santa please/ All I want for Christmas is a cowboy/ Who only wants me

Megan Moroney’s Christmas Traditions

In an interview prior to her CMA Country Christmas performance, Megan Moroney opened up about her family’s holiday traditions.

“I think my favorite Christmas tradition is Christmas Eve. My whole family and I, my dad makes us watch It’s a Wonderful Life, the black and white version, every single year, and he makes chocolate chip cookies. And then on Christmas Day, we have a lobster,” she shared.

Meg’s appearance on the CMA Country Christmas comes just days after she made her television movie debut in A Grand Ole Opry Christmas. Moroney was joined by Jamey Johnson for “All I Want For Christmas Is A Cowboy” in the movie that also featured an impressive lineup of other country stars.
